Installing/Removing Forward-Facing Car Seat

WARNING — DEATH or

SERIOUS INJURY can occur

• All children less than one year old and 20 lb (9.1 kg) must use this car

seat Rear-Facing. Serious injury or death can result if infant faces front of

vehicle.

• Rear-Facing Base and Anti-Rebound Bar must be removed when using

seat Forward-Facing.

• LATCH or vehicle belt must stay tightly adjusted at all times.

• Seat must be in a Forward-Facing recline position when used Forward-

Facing.

• To avoid injury, this car seat must be installed by an adult.

• Do not install this car seat Forward-Facing with the Rear-Facing LATCH

Belt. Only Rigid LATCH should be used to install this car seat Forward-

Facing with the vehicle’s LATCH anchorage system.

• Failure to properly install or use this car seat increases the risk of serious

injury or death to the child and others in a sharp turn, sudden stop

or crash.

• Never leave this car seat unsecured in your vehicle. This car seat must

remain secured even when not in use. In a sharp turn, crash or sudden

stop, an unsecured car seat can be thrown around and could severely

injure vehicle occupants.

• Only use this car seat LATCH system in vehicle seating locations

designated by the vehicle manufacturer for use with LATCH and that have

an anchor spacing of 11 in. (280 mm).

• LATCH Connectors must be secured to the vehicle LATCH lower anchors

only. Connection to other vehicle anchors or vehicle components could

result in the anchor tearing free in a crash.

• Never attach more than one LATCH connector to a vehicle lower anchor

unless recommended by the vehicle owner’s manual for that vehicle.

• ALWAYS secure the Top Tether provided with this car seat when installing

Forward-Facing with Rigid LATCH. NEVER use this car seat, when

installing Forward-Facing with Rigid LATCH, without the Top Tether.

• NEVER use recline position 1 Forward-Facing without a Top Tether.
